I get broadband back later this weekend! The first photo from the new camera that I've posted uncropped, unaltered... just resized. It was from the back drop of a Tai Chi demonstration stage but seemed to be more kung fu by night.

Happy New Year. Welcome to the year of the Rat.

Taken at the New Year Flower Market in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay a few hours before midnight. A bit of a shock having to readjust to my old camera though. I would crop and adjust the photo better, but I have no idea what the Chinese says and probably will completely change the meaning if I leave out a character or two.

This is the view from my new apartment - I'm lucky in that I'm on the 31st out of 32 floors as the view is stunning. The cloud has been too low at night time to get the night shot, but that'll follow once I have managed to capture a suitable image. Hong Kong is going through it's longest coldest spell for over 10 years - in parts of town yesterday it reached 0.9 degrees C which isn't far off the lowest ever temperature recorded in 1890 something of zero! (according to today's newspaper at least).

The special coating on the glass to keep the heat out in the summer gave the camera real problems which is why it's not the clearest with odd shadows and reflections.
